Blackpool 21/10/07
The Art Car Parade, took place in Blackpool on 21st October 2007, and was the very first Illuminated parade of its kind in the UK; a highlight of the Festival of Light in 2007, and part of the Blackpool Illuminations.
Fifteen to twenty vehicles formed an illuminated motorcade along Blackpool’s landmark promenade, with three vehicles that were specially created for the Blackpool event, including a flame projecting Green Goddess fire engine; and, in keeping with Blackpool’s seaside heritage, an illuminated metallic fish built on a Nissan Micra, its silvery metal scales lit with LED’s. Other vehicles were decorated, sculpted, illuminated and bejeweled to create “Transports of DeLight” in the shape of cars, trucks, bikes and pedal-powered contraptions.
