Stephen Williams
Snake-oil Sales Van
Snake-oil Sales Van is inspired by the wagons used by traveling salesmen (snake-oil sales men) in the ‘Wild West’ of America. In the 19th century these wagons were used to transport and sell fake medicines and shoddy goods. This version replaces the pair of horses that would pull the wagon with two Honda C90 motorcycles linked together.

Stephen was a truck driver for 24 years but after a ‘mid-life’ crisis he decided to leave the security of work to follow his dream. After five years of study he graduated from Chichester University with a BA(Hons) in fine art. Steve is currently developing his own art practice.
Stephen shows us his work in progress to date (above) and comments “I look forward to seeing the other ‘Art Cars’ at the parade in September and so far my own build has been enjoyable and not like real work and I’m pleased to be on the Art Car “bandwagon”.
