Fossil-Fuelled Dumper

Based on an articulated 3 ton dumper…this creature is a fossil, its skeleton is burnished black twisted metal of a long gone age its patina chipped and aged by countless millennia. In places worn smooth by relentless windborne debris and in others cruelly shattered by the unstoppable shifting of tectonic plates. It drools a black and sulphurous substance from its mouth and various orifices. Black and grey smoke erupt sporadically, engulfing the operator and his charge. Whilst not being entirely lifeless in character, we are reminded by the unrelenting chug, chug, chug of its fossil fuelled power house, that the very thing that is driving it forward, is driving it to its inevitable oblivion. Cannibalising the fruit of its forefather’s carcasses and the fallen leaves of an autumn a million years hence. This black-blooded monster has had its day.
