Artists from all over the country were specially commissioned by Walk the Plank to transform vehicles into mobile artworks, and create an exciting new kind of festival for the UK.

The UK’s first Art Car Parade premiered in Manchester on Saturday 8th September 2007 and following this the UK’s first Illuminated Art Car Parade took place in Blackpool for the Festival of Light, part of the Illuminations on Sunday 21st October.

Then, the Art Cars headed North to Newcastle for a ‘Glowmobiles’ illuminated Parade on New Year’s Eve; part of the NewcastleGateshead Winter Festival.

Walk the Plank can confirm that a second Glowmobiles Parade will take place on New Years Eve in Newcastle (please see “Events 2008″ section for further details). We also hope there will be additional Art Car Parades throughout the year - we’re in the process of applying for funding and looking for sponsors.
